Mata ajaran yang diberikan pada tingkat S1 ini diharapkan dapat mencakup bidang industri jasa dan industri manufaktur mengingat 2 faktor utama, yaitu:

  • Letak Geografis Universitas Indonesia yang merupakan ibukota negara membuat kombinasi antara pusat jasa di tengah kota dan pusat manufaktur pada bagian lingkar luar ibukota.
  • Sarjana Teknik Industri UI sebagian besar terserap pada sektor jasa karena keunikan pola pikir sistemiknya yang mampu menerapkan keilmuannya tidak hanya di sektor manufaktur.

Sedangkan konsentrasi keilmuan diarahkan lebih dalam untuk diambil pada pada jenjang pendidikan berikutnya yaitu S2 atau dikenal pula sebagai program magister.

Tujuan pendidikan untuk program sarjana dijabarkan kedalam Expected Learning Outcomes (ELO) yang terdiri dari 19 keluaran yang ingin dicapai. ELO ini kemudian dijabarkan kedalam sebuah struktur Kurikulum Lengkap Program Sarjana (S1) Teknik Industri yang dapat di download: [download id=”1947″]

Selain pendidikan diarahkan kepada penguasaan keilmuan, Teknik Industri juga menyadari bahwa setiap lulusan harus memiliki kemampuan untuk terus menerus belajr (life long learning) sehingga setiap lulusan dididik untuk memiliki berbagai keahlian yang membangun kemampuan ini , yaitu kemampuan berpikir secara logis (logical framework), kemampuan statistik dan riset (Statistical and Research Capabilities), kemampuan untuk memecahkan masalah (Problem Solving), kemampuan interpersonal (Interpersonal Skills) untuk mampu memimpin dan bekerja kerja kelompok (Leadership and Teamwork).

Undergraduate Program

Our graduate, as industrial engineers, are expected to design, operate, improve, and install an integrated system using a structured problem solving approach. The integrated systems that our industrial engineers consist of a broad spectrum of manufacturing and service industries, including: supply chain management and logistics, operations, health care, banking, information management and related industry. The main key of all these industries are value adding industries, and the two main values that they must be focus on are productivity and quality.

Based on these understanding, our education program  objective

is to prepare the graduates to have the capabilities of designing, improving, operating and maintaining integrated and multi-level manufacturing and service systems by means of analytical, computational and experimental methods with regard to professionalism values in order to increase the productivity and quality of the system.

In order to deliver this profile, we understand that we must balance between education, research and practical needs. This concept “Tridharma” is a concept adopted as our educational philosophy: providing high quality education by generating new knowledge through scientific research without forgetting our roles in the society to developed our community and nation. Our philosophy is also in line with the vision and mission of our department, engineering faculty and university.

Based on these, IEUI formulates Expected Learning Outcomes (ELOs). There are nineteen points of ELOs. IEUI translates these ELO points into four groups of skills and knowledge based on competence-based curriculum guidance (KBK curriculum). Each point of ELOs represents and corresponds to the goals of department, faculty, and university. All of these learning outcomes are then developed into the curriculum structure of Undergraduate Degree Study Program in Industrial Engineering.
